I used a big picture at the top of the page to grab the audiences attention and long with a title of the band. I then used the title of the magazine in the same font as the front page to give it a simalar look.

I added in smaller pictures with the number of each page. All of the text is written in black on white background, makes it standout.

I put on top of the main image the title of the page 'contents' in a style which blended well with the style of my magazine.
